DANCING WATER

We got 'bronze prize'. We used to tessellation skin to create organic form. Nice images and animation.

Water as Life
"We made from water every living thing".
In old Greek philosophy water is one of the four classical elements along with fire, earth and air, and was regarded as the ylem, or basic substance of the universe.
Water was considered cold and moist. Water was also one of the five elements in traditional Chinese philosophy, along with earth, fire, wood, and metal.
People must obtain nature to survive, and we do so in various ways. Water is filled with life, not only in the past but also in present and future.

Han-river in Seoul
The cityscape of Seoul is mainly made of nature: mountains and waterway. Especially Han-river is one of main nature elements that consist in contemporary Seoul.
In the past Han-river gave the life to Seoul, nowadays many cultures of city are together with Han-river. Routine urban life is refreshed by Han-river’s energy.
Han-river is the cradle of Seoul.

Water Dance
Water contains unlimited energy. The energy can transform in many different ways. Rippling of water tells it to us. It is continuously rippling by wind or kind of vibrations, It is showing the energy flowing that is not visible. They are interacting between each other and make irregular forms.
The form of the proposal is created by the transformation of water dynamic energy. The rippling of water is a dance with wind and generates forms. Hence, the form is generated by the flow of energy. It is ready to be transformed into others interacting with people.

Geometry
The geometry is composed with organic forms. The concept is ‘fossilization of nature’. The geometry fossilizes the form that water ripple makes. It is makes natural textures one the form and becomes the structure at the same time.

Architecture
It is open structure floated on the water. It is designated for public open space. The space is flexible for various functions and programs for culture: concert, exhibition etc. There are minimum services such as garden, trees, benches, bar, and open deck for panorama view.
The open structure space created dynamic atmosphere that light and shadow make. People can be relax with nature and can refresh themselves from nature. In terms of accessibility it is possible to reach from riverside. At night it becomes an icon of the city of Seoul through the illumination.

GEOMETRICAL EQUILIBRIUM

We tried to design something different type of tower.
It is very organic form for the icon of city.

GEOMETRICAL EQUILIBRIUM
This project proposed to achieve the representative aspiration and symbolic meaning of city chung-na and satisfy people’s stable and grand visual experience to appreciate. We are expecting Chung-na is contineous change, evolving to become technological and cultural city in the world through our strategy for and economically and structurally safe and sustainable development.
The Chung-na tower is based on the mathematical principle of turning curves, which is plan result in woven structural condition to deal with its own stress and load.? It also has a symbolic meaning for the City of Chung-na.
Mathemathically generated circulating structure is enriched by hanged space as a various programes. Continous structural condition comprise of geometric reason of structure for construction and cultural iconic aspects of tower.
Main geometric transition of tower means historical meaning of architectural heritage and symbolic. It deals with reference to Korean TAGUK (permanent circulation of cosmos); sustainable, economical and cultural agreement.
